Join UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the
Russian Federation Mariana Katzarova in New York for a presentation
of her latest report to the UN General Assembly.

The report examines how the Russian Federation has institutionalized
a system of fear and punishment to silence dissent, suppress
fundamental freedoms, and extend repression beyond its borders.

The Special Rapporteur will be joined at the event by Russian and
Ukrainian human rights defenders to speak about the treatment of
Ukrainian detainees in Russian prisons, the repression against Russian
civil society and how they are continuing their work despite the risks.
