Brown Bag Lunch Series

Speaker: Dr. Simon Adams, Executive Director of the Global Centre for the Responsibility to ProtectDr. Simon Adams

The Responsibility to Protect—known as R2P—refers to the obligation of states toward their populations and toward all populations at risk of genocide and other mass atrocity crimes. If a state is manifestly failing to protect its populations, the international community must be prepared to take appropriate collective action. Dr. Simon Adams, Executive Director of the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, will discuss R2P in the context of Syria, where people continue to face mass atrocity crimes committed by state security forces, affiliated militias, and armed opposition groups.

Kosher pizza will be served.
